Shoefiti is back in Oregon to play a week-long residency at Al’s Den (Pdx) and a string of electric shows with Summer Cannibals drummer Devon Shirley.
SHOEFITI (Indie-Rock, Paris FR)
Inspired by the nineties indie rock scene, Shoefiti blends bright melodies and bursts of fuzzed out harmonic friction. Recorded during a winter storm in the French country side, the band’s third album “Fill The Silence With Your Desires” will be released in october, pushing towards a wilder and more direct sound.
Portland power pop four-piece The Dovecotes recall freewheeling, halcyon days of early 90s Stumptown bands like Pond and Heatmiser. Instead of guitars aggressively propelling into the rock stratosphere, Hugh Jepson’s vocals, delivered from dreamland, are the real catalyst, gently and slowly tugging the listener into outer space. Dovecotes’ guitar stylings are quintessential indie: jangly yet melodically complex, providing that slow burn throughout the life of the tune.
